The Challenge

Your calendar shouldn't be public property.

Jesper Melin — founder of Coaches Don't Play, a global coaching movement — had a problem shared by every executive coach, CEO, and high-value consultant:

Tools like Calendly expose your calendar. Anyone with a link can see your availability, judge how busy you are, and block your time without context. For someone whose time is the product, that's a fundamental design flaw.

Jesper needed a tool where people request your time — you decide. No calendar exposure. No surprise bookings. No automated guilt trips. Silence is a valid answer.

He had the vision. He needed someone to build it fast, build it right, and ship it before the idea got stale. That's where Syntelligence came in.

Built For

Who needs request-first scheduling?

Executive Coaches

Time is the product. Every unvetted meeting is lost revenue.

CEOs & Founders

50+ meeting requests/week. Need to filter signal from noise.

Consultants & Advisors

Charge premium rates — can't afford random discovery calls.

Therapists & Practitioners

Privacy-first scheduling. Clients shouldn't see your patient load.

Media & Content Creators

Public figures who need gatekeeping without appearing inaccessible.

Investors & VCs

Vet pitch requests before committing calendar slots.

What We Built

Idea to live product. 8 weeks. 1 engineer.

WEEK 1–2 | December 2025

Architecture & Design

Defined the core concept with Jesper: request-first scheduling that inverts the Calendly model. Architected the database schema (Prisma), auth flow (NextAuth + Google OAuth), and the request lifecycle: Submit → Review → Accept/Counter/Ignore. Designed the UI: dark premium aesthetic, mobile-first, meeting inbox with swipe actions.

WEEK 3–5 | January 2026

Core Platform Development

Built the full scheduling engine: availability windows, timezone handling (date-fns-tz), holiday blocking, custom screening questions. Integrated Google Calendar API for real-time conflict detection and automatic event sync on accept. Implemented the counter-proposal system — multi-date negotiation across time zones. Email notification system (Nodemailer) for request alerts and confirmations.

WEEK 6–7 | Late January 2026

Monetization & Infrastructure

Stripe integration for subscription billing (Starter/Pro/Executive tiers). PWA setup with Serwist for offline support and push notifications (web-push). Internationalization with next-intl — full multi-language support from day one. Framer Motion animations for a premium feel. Radix UI for accessible, headless components.

WEEK 8 | February 2026

Launch & Public Beta

Deployed to Vercel. Landing page live at meet-r.com. Beta users onboarded with all Pro features unlocked. 33% of future profits committed to Coaches Don't Play — a social impact commitment baked into the business model from launch, not bolted on as an afterthought.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

How long did it take to build meet-r?

meet-r went from initial idea (December 2025) to public beta (February 2026) in approximately 8 weeks. The entire platform — including authentication, Google Calendar sync, Stripe billing, email notifications, PWA support, and multi-language UI — was built by a single senior engineer using agentic AI-augmented development.

What tech stack does meet-r use?

Next.js 16, React 19, Prisma ORM with PostgreSQL, NextAuth for authentication, Google Calendar API for real-time sync, Stripe for subscription payments, Nodemailer for transactional email, web-push for browser notifications, next-intl for internationalization, Framer Motion for animations, and Radix UI for accessible components. Deployed on Vercel as a full PWA.

What makes meet-r different from Calendly?

Calendly uses "open booking" — anyone with your link can see your availability and book a slot. meet-r inverts this: people submit a request with their agenda and context. You review it in a private inbox and decide: Accept, Counter-propose with alternative times, or Ignore. Your calendar stays completely hidden. No one sees how busy (or free) you are.

Who is meet-r for?

Executive coaches, CEOs, founders, consultants, therapists, media personalities, and investors — anyone whose time is their most valuable asset and who needs to control access to their calendar rather than expose it publicly.
